Gifts for Men
by Gift FairyEvery time we look up Gifts for Men, the same items seem to be listed! Every single time! But there's a reason why! A lot of men (not all!) like receiving the same type of gifts - from socks, to wallets, to shirts and so on. But here are a few ideas that you may not have thought of!
1. A regular phone/device charger - no, we 're not talking about one of the fancy gadgets that can be used to charge everything at once, we're talking about a regular charger! If you use an iPhone or iPad, you'll know the struggle! Chargers tend to break! It's something that you really hate buying for yourself but need one at the same time so to give it as gift is a great idea. It will really be appreciated (and used!)
2. A crystal glass
If you're buying a gift for a man who likes a drink now and again, a beautiful glass is a great gift idea. If they like whiskey or gin, a waterford crystal glass is not just a stunning looking piece, it actually gives the drink a nicer taste. It's also a keepsake gift! If they like craft beer or beer, then there are some great glasses available too. Depending on what they drink and how they drink, there are glasses available that have a handle and some without.
3. Coasters
We love this as a gift idea for men. If it's special gift, a bottle of something nice, a crystal glass and a coaster inside a gorgeous gift box will look great. There are a variety of coasters available. You may opt for a personalised or custom coaster, a collector's one from a favourite drinks company or pub or a stylish leather one.
4. A hot chocolate machine. This is often a gift that people can't really justify buying themselves as often the question asked is Well, how much will I use it? But if you're a hot chocolate fan, then it's a super gift idea as it's such a treat and the hot chocolate is not like sachets of chocolate or instant chocolate. It's real chocolate grated so you're adding chocolate pieces to the machine. Stunning.
5. Nintendo Switch. The great thing about the Nintendo Switch is the size. It is a hand held console so can be used sitting on the couch, or on a bus/train etc . There are three modes in one:
a. TV Mode-you can dock the Nintendo Switch and play HD gaming on your TV
b. Tabletop Mode- You can flip the Nintendo Switch stand so that you can share the screen and play with someone else
c. Handheld Mode- You can play when it is in your hands - thanks to the controllers that are attached
6. Reusable Cup. This is a great gift idea for men as it can be used anywhere-in the car or on public transport or at the desk (to and from the office) or in the garden and on walks. So really it is a cup that keeps on giving. There are a huge variety of different types of cups from very low prices to high end styles. The key thing to think about when selecting a cup is - Is this a cup that he will use? There is no point getting a very fancy high end cup if it's difficult to hold and awkward or it leaks easily. All you really need is a cup that keeps the tea/coffee hot, doesn't spill/leak, had a lid and can be held comfortably.
7. Comb/Brush. If looking for a great comb or hair brush to give as a gift, the brand Kent is a great choice. The hair brushes are handcrafted using the finest timbers and selected natural bristles to ensure the uppermost quality, providing long lasting haircare. Kent have over 200 years of manufacturing experience so they know the importance of quality.
We love the Kent Men's Oval Military Style Hairbrush is a great gift for men. The military-style grooming brush is made from high-quality beechwood and is filled with bristle to promote natural shine while distributing natural oils and preventing split ends without damaging the hair. It is ideal for short hair.
8. Pizza Maker/Oven
A pizza maker is a great idea as a gift for men and can be used outside. Ooni have a great rage of pizza makers and they are so compact that they suit gardens and balconies. They have the pizza makers available in the following styles:
a. Fyra 12 wood pellet pizza oven.
- Hardwood pellet fuelled for consistently high heat and low maintenance

- Reaches 500°C (950°F) in just 15 minutes

b. Koda 12 gas powered pizza oven.

c. Koda 16 gas powered pizza oven.

- Extra-large cooking area for 16” pizzas, meat joints, breads and more!
- Innovative L-shaped flame for one-turn cooking
d. Karu 12 multi-fuel pizza oven.
- Multiple fuel options for maximum cooking flexibility
- Fire up with wood or charcoal right out of the box, or with gas with the Ooni Gas Burner (sold separately).
- Reaches 500°C ( 950°F) in 15 minutes, for fresh stone-baked pizza in just 60 seconds.
- Portable at just 12kg (26.4lb), with all the power of a large pizza oven
One thing to keep in mind if buying a pizza oven is that a lot of extras are needed. If buying one of the gas powered ones, you need to buy an extra attachment and then there are things like the Pizza Peel and cover. That being said, if you're buying it for someone who loves pizza, it really is an amazing gift!
9. Theragun
The Theragun comes in different sizes but we love the Theragun Mini as it provides the same quality treatment you'd expect from Theragun but it's smaller and portable so you can bring it anywhere. It's also easier to hold.
Cramps, knots, and tension can strike at the most inconvenient times, and when you are venturing off the beaten path mini is right there with you. Slip it into a jacket pocket or stow it in your gear for easy access and a quick calf or shoulder sweep right when you need it
Loosen cramps and knots anywhere anytime. This is a great gift for men who run a lot but also for those who work at a desk for a number of hours every day. It really helps to ease tension on the back and cramps in the legs.
10. Aquarium or Bonsai Tree
Ok, so this is really two different things but an aquarium is a big gift. Not just in terms of cost but it is a gift that really requires you to be certain that the man you are buying it for actually wants it. The fish will need to be cared for. But, that said, if it is a gift that you know is wanted, it really is a spectacular gift. There are so many awesome tanks and different colored and beautiful fish available.
If an aquarium is not the solution, then maybe consider a Bonsai Tree. They are very popular and look great! They come in planter type gift sets so the recipient can plant the seeds themselves and care for the Bonsai Tree as it grows. You have to allow time for the tree to take root and grow strong before you start training and pruning. It's a slow but rewarding process! Bonsai trees are grown in small containers and trimmed and trained with wires so that they remain small.
